The Ghost Reservoir area is a long, windswept impoundment of the Bow River located on the edge of the foothills approximately 45 km west of Calgary and immediately west of Cochrane.

East of Cochrane, towards Calgary, Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is home to spectacular landscapes and natural resource along the Bow River. There are many trails to bike and walk with stunning views.
Ghost Lake
The reservoir and dam are named for the Ghost River, which flows into the east end of the reservoir. Ghost Lake is popular recreation spot for summer boating and winter ice fishing.
Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary
Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary offers a variety of tours to the public. The purpose of our tours is to educate the public on wolfdogs and raise awareness regarding wolf conservation. All proceeds from the tours directly fund the sanctuary and its continued rescue efforts.
Wildlife
The Ghost River area, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is home to a variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, black bears, rocky mountain bighorn sheep, deer (white & mule), coyote, and wolf.
